Our programs range from sector specific training programs that give resident jobseekers direct access to job opportunities with our industry partners to individual job search assistance. Whether seeking a program to begin a new career or looking for immediate work, our qualification enhancement programs and job-ready placement services can make the difference.

 

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS:

CityBuild Academy (CBA)

A construction pre-apprenticeship training program that is intended to provide entry-level construction skills along with a combination of vocational training in a classroom setting and hands-on training in a construction environment that prepares participants for entering the construction industry. The program is operated in partnership with the City College of San Francisco, community based organizations, and trade unions. In addition to offering basic training in various trades, graduates also receive direct job-placement assistance in a variety of construction skilled trades.

Construction Admin & Professional Services Academy (CAPSA)

Focused on the non-trade occupations in construction such as administrative and construction manager trainee. CAPSA provides San Francisco resident jobseekers the highest level of career development with vocational training facilitated at CCSF-Mission Campus, combined with Job-Readiness Training at MHH, and supported with dedicated case management and placement of graduates in internships with local construction companies, and ending with MHH’s proven job-placement services.

Hospitality Sector Initiative

The hospitality sector is a diverse sector with a vast array of occupations across different skill levels. The primary program goal of the Hospitality Sector Initiative focuses on direct job-placement, from entry level to advanced skilled positions. Jobseekers wishing to enroll must complete the MHH registration form and the one-on-one intake session to determine which service track they prefer; job-ready clients with marketable skills and qualifications receive immediate job- placement services. Clients needing further assistance are encouraged to enroll in the Hospitality job-readiness training, which teaches intensive job-search preparations and skill-building lessons for acquiring sound customer service fundamentals. Basing the Hospitality job-readiness training on the customer service position gives access to more job opportunities due to the inherent transferrable skill sets of the position, which allows crossover to multiple sectors.

Free Powers to Arrest Training

The Security Guard Card Program focuses on job development and job placement within the security services industry. MHH is certified to administrate the instruction of the Powers to Arrest training by the State of California. The program also provides participants with intensive job search preparation assistance and basic customer service training intended to compliment the attainment of the Guard Card and enhance prospects for immediate job placement in security services. The program’s job placement services are strengthened through an established referral process with participating security companies in the San Francisco-Bay Area, plus exclusive client access to all MHH sponsored multi-sector mass recruitment events for hotels and restaurants, security services, retail sales, administrative receptionist, and other service industry positions.
